- Save Changes: Click Save to apply the updates.
Brand Responsibilities for Managing Inventory
-
Enter Accurate Quantities
- Brands are responsible for entering the exact amount of quantities available for each product or variant they activate.
-
Update Stock Regularly
- If brands are offering the same stock on other third-party sales channels, their own e-commerce, or in-store sales channels, they must manually update stock quantities frequently to reflect the true amount of product available for customers on Shop.
Automatic Quantity Updates for Shop Orders
- Sales on Shop: For products purchased through the consumer Shop, the system will automatically decrease the quantity each time a unit is sold. The updated quantity will reflect the original stock entered minus the unit(s) sold.
- Order Cancellations: If an order is canceled, the system will automatically re-add the subtracted unit(s) to the inventory quantity.
- Returns: In the case of a successful return, the system will also automatically re-add the unit(s) to the product inventory.
Best Practices for High-Volume Sales
- Frequent Updates for Shared Stock: If brands experience a high volume of daily sales on other sales channels, they should update their stock levels several times a week to reflect sold-out products or low inventory.
- Weekly Updates for Lower Sales Volumes: If brands have less frequent sales, updating stock at least weekly is recommended, especially for products running low on inventory or selling out.
- Reserve Stock for Shop: To avoid manual updates, brands can allocate a select number of units exclusively for Shop orders.
Consequences of Inaccurate Inventory
Consistently being unable to fulfill orders due to inaccurate stock quantities could result in suspension from the consumer Shop. Brands must ensure their inventory levels are up to date to maintain customer satisfaction and compliance with platform policies.
