Merging products allows you to group similar items (for example, different colors of the same style) into one parent listing. This helps keep your product catalog organized and ensures that variants, descriptions, and images are consolidated under a single product. If you use an integration like Shopify, this keeps your inventory perfectly synced and your tracking unbroken.
Prerequisites
Before you start , there is one non-negotiable rule: All products must share a common attribute. Whether it is Size or Color, there must be a consistent thread between them. For example, if you are merging three different colored bags, they must all share the same sizing structure (e.g., "One-Size").
Preparation
A quick prep ensures your data stays organized. Before you start:
- Rename option names: Use clear names like "Blue" instead of "No-Color."
- Select variant images: It’s easier to assign photos to each variant before you merge them.
In this guide, we'll use Blue, Green, and Yellow bags as an example.
In this example, since the bags are all One-Size but come in different colors, we will leave the size as-is and rename the default "No Color" to the appropriate color name. We will also assign the specific product image at the variant level for each bag.

Merging
1. Select Your Products
Navigate to your Product Catalog. Use the checkboxes on the left to select the specific products you want to combine. Then click the Bulk Actions button located at the top right of your screen. From the dropdown menu, select Merge Products.
We’ll be merging a Blue, Green, and Yellow bag into one single product listing.
2. Merging The Selected Products
A modal will appear asking for two critical pieces of information:
- Choose parent product: This is the "Main" product. The final listing will inherit this product's Title, Description, and general metadata.
- Identify Shared Option: Select the attribute that is consistent across all items (e.g., Size). In this example, since the bags are all “One-Size”, we will select Size.
3. Validation Check
The system will run a quick check to ensure all selected items are compatible. Look for the green checkmarks to confirm that the "Parent" and "Child" products have passed the validation rules.
3. Finalize The Merge
Click Merge. The platform will now copy the variant data and images from the "child" products into the "parent" product.
The Result
You will have one parent listing, and when you click into it, you’ll see all the colors (Blue, Green, Yellow) listed as variants under the Product Variants section, complete with their respective images and stock levels.
Tip: After merging, visit the Media section of your new parent product to ensure all images are organized in the order you want them to appear to customers.
