On The Folklore, providing specific Color and Size data is a requirement. This structure is necessary to remain compatible with the premium marketplaces and storefronts we connect to.
- When products sync from Shopify or WooCommerce, our system attempts to auto-detect your variant names. If it cannot automatically categorize them, you must manually map them to ensure your products can be saved and displayed correctly. In such cases, you will see these errors when trying to save a product:
- Please provide valid data for the following fields: Sizes
Please provide valid data for the following fields: Colors
- In cases where variant syncing is turned off, you can use the Fix Variant feature to fetch any newly added variants from your Shopify or WooCommerce store.
Note: Feel free to try it out. Nothing will change unless you click Save, and you can always refresh the page to return to your current variant setup.
How to Fix Variant Mapping
1. Locate the "Fix Variant Options" Button
Scroll down to the Variant Options section of your product page. You will find the Fix Variant Options button in these places:
- To the right of the Variant Options header.
- Within the warning box under the Sizing or Color sub-sections.
2. Map Your Options
Once the mapping modal opens, match your platform's variant names to The Folklore’s required fields:
- Identify the match: Ensure you select the closest Folklore option for your specific name. For example, if your Shopify option is "Accessory Size," map it to Sizes. If it is "Finish," map it to Colors.
- Using "None": Only select None if the option does not relate to Color or Size. These will be moved to Additional Options.
3. Complete the Process
Click Fix Options to apply the mapping. Review the variants section afterward to ensure no data is missing before saving.
4. Complete The Process.
Select Save to confirm your changes. If you change your mind, refresh the page to restore your existing variant setup before saving.
