The Stock Buffer Amount feature helps prevent overselling by reserving a set quantity of inventory from being available for purchase.
When a product’s inventory reaches or falls below the defined buffer amount, the product will no longer be available for sale.
This setting applies across all products and is set to 0 by default.
How to Set a Stock Buffer Amount
- Log in to your The Folklore account.
- Navigate to:
Account Settings → Business Information → Selling Information - Open the following page:
https://member.thefolklore.com/account/profile - Locate the Stock Buffer Amount field.
- Enter the desired inventory buffer number.
- Save your changes.
How the Stock Buffer Works
The stock buffer amount reserves a minimum quantity of inventory that cannot be purchased by customers.
For example:
- If your inventory quantity is 20
- And your stock buffer amount is set to 5
Customers will only be able to purchase up to 15 units.
Once inventory reaches 5 units remaining, the product will automatically become unavailable for purchase.
Important Notes
- This setting applies to all products.
- The default stock buffer amount is set to 0 for all users.
- Updating your stock buffer can help reduce overselling and inventory management issues across sales channels.
