The Marketplace Connect feature within The Folklore platform allows brands to explore new sales channels and request to connect with marketplace partners in just a few clicks. This feature is designed to simplify the process of identifying new opportunities, understanding marketplace requirements, and submitting requests to sell.
Overview of Marketplace Connect
Brands can log into The Folklore platform to explore a curated selection of global marketplace partners. Each partner profile contains essential information to help brands determine if the platform aligns with their sales goals. Once a brand finds a suitable partner, they can easily submit a connection request directly through the platform.
Key Steps to Discover and Connect with a Marketplace
Accessing Marketplace Connect
Log in to The Folklore platform
Click on Sales Channels in the navigation menu
Select Marketplace Connect
Viewing Marketplace Partner Profiles
Click a marketplace partner’s profile to view key details, including:
Logo and name
Customer type (D2C or B2B)
Registered country
Product divisions and departments
Selling fees
Shipping speed and delivery countries
Ship-from country
Website link and traffic
Company description
Accepted currencies
Maximum fulfillment and shipping times
Seller terms and conditions
Key documents and media requirements
Shipping and return policies
Sending a Connection Request
Brands can request to connect with a marketplace by:
Clicking the Connect button on the Marketplace Connect page
OR clicking into a marketplace profile and selecting Connect
Review and Next Steps
If marketplace approval is not required, your brand is approved automatically.
If preliminarily approved, you will receive an email confirming the next step for submission to the partner for final approval.
If not approved, you will receive an email explaining why.
Approval Outcomes
No Approval Required
Your brand is automatically approved by The Folklore.
The marketplace will appear in your Connected tab.
You will then have the option to activate products on that platform.
Partner Review Required
Your request is submitted to the marketplace partner for review.
If approved: The marketplace will move to your Connected tab, and you can activate products.
If denied: You’ll receive an email with the reasoning provided.
Activating Products in Marketplaces
Once your marketplace connection has been approved, you can begin activating your products for sale on that marketplace.
How to Activate a Product
1. Navigate to your Product Catalog
- Go to Products → Product Catalog in your dashboard
- Use the search bar to quickly locate the product you want to publish
- Open the product page
Before proceeding, make sure all required product information is complete.
2. Activate the Product
- On the top right of the product page, click the Status button
- From the dropdown menu, select Activate Product
3. Choose Activation Channels
A pop-up window will appear:
- Select the marketplace(s) where you want your product to be active
- You can activate your product on one or multiple platforms at the same time
4. Submit Activation Request
- Click Activate to submit your request
5. Complete Missing Fields (if needed)
- If any required information is missing, a bulleted list will appear
- Complete the required fields and resubmit your activation request
6. Understand Product Status
After submitting your product, you can track its status directly on the product page:
- Green → Product is approved and live on the marketplace
- Yellow → Product is under review
- Red → Product was rejected
- Gray → Product is not active on this marketplace
If your product is rejected, you will see feedback and comments highlighting what needs to be corrected.
Once updates are made and resubmitted, the status will change from red to yellow, indicating the product is back under review.
